Bathurst - Eldridge Fournier, 96, of the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Friday (October 26, 2007).
Eldridge "Al", a native of Bathurst, served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Bathurst.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Dorothy (Sargent) Fournier.
He is survived by:

Robert Fournier (Grace Doucet) of Lachine, Que.
Two sisters:
Marie Kay and
Bernice Bainton, both of Mississauga, ON
Daughter-in-law:
Lorraine Thayer (late Freddy) of Yarmouth, Mass, USA
6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
Besides his wife, he was pre-deceased by a son; Freddy, sister; Ernestine, 6 brothers; Alonzo "Smiler", James, Sylvernus, Francis, Linus and Jarvis.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (November 3, 2007) at 2:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. A Legion Service will be held in conjunction with the Memorial Service.
