Bathurst - The death of Mrs. Vesta Ramsay, 76, of Bridge St., Bathurst, wife of William 'Bill' Ramsay, occurred Thursday (January 1, 2004), at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Canobie, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Bella (Jagoe) Knowles.
She had worked at Eaton's Order Office. Until this year, she was an Avon representative for 29 years, never retiring.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Herbert Dempsey in 1962.
She is survived by her husband, William 'Bill' Ramsay

She was pre-deceased by a sister; Helen Sealy, 2 brothers; Glendon & Morris Knowles, 2 half-sisters; Evangeline Uphamm and Bella Knowles and by their mother, Vesta's step-mother; Rebecca (Peters) Knowles.
The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon (January 3, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Saint George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the St. Alban's Cemetery, Bridge St., in the spring.
