Bathurst - Alfred "Buffer" Chamberlain, 77, of Mt. Carmel St., Bathurst, passed away Saturday (March 15, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes "Aggie" (Watson) Chamberlain.
He was retired from Brunswick Mining. Buffer had a big heart for his community and did a lot of volunteer work for the City including re-painting all the Fire Hydrants.
He is survived by wife, Marie (Guignard) Chamberlain

Claudette Charette Losier of Montreal
Two brothers:
Thomas Chamberlain (Cathrina) of Toronto, ON
Gerald Chamberlain (Cecile) of Bathurst
Two sisters:
Elizabeth Roy (Alfred), and
Yvonne White (Roger), all of Bathurst
6 grandchildren; Daniel, Joshua, Justin, Nicholas, Sarah, Julie, 1 great-grandson; Jean Luc.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by brothers; Théophil “Coq”, David and a sister; Jeannette.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday afternoon (March 18, 2008) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s cemetery, St. Mary's Ave. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com).
