Bathurst - Vernon Daley, 93, of Bridge St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (August 15, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Chester and Katie (Payne) Daley
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas. He was a life member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked for 38 years for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and member of the First United Church.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Florence (Chiasson) Daley in 1994 and is survived by:

The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday (August 19, 2008) at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Burial will be in the United Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in memory of Vernon may be made to the First United Church.
