June Coldwell 1929-2009

June Velma Coldwell of Riverside Dr., Bathurst passed away at Chaleur Regional Hospital on January 9, 2009. Born in Sydney, NS, in June of 1929, June was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marian (Lake) Theuerkauf. June graduated from the VG Hospital of Halifax in 1951. She lived in Bathurst since 1964.
Through the years June was active in the Girl Guides of Canada including roles as NB Provincial Commissioner, International Commissioner for Canada and Deputy Chief Commissioner of Canada. She enjoyed curling at the local and provincial level. Riverside Antiques and Chocolate Witchcraft, her two businesses, were her passions for a number of years. She will be remembered fondly by many in the Bathurst region as the "Chocolate Lady". She was also an active member of the local IODE.
June was pre-deceased by her husband of 55 years, Ron (2007).
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her entire family. One daughter: Kathleen Conde (Norman) of Bathurst, two sons: Steve (Chris) of Calgary and Bill (Sandy) of Dallas, Texas, 5 grandchildren: Julie, Michael and Amy of Calgary and Heather and Sarah of Bathurst, one sister Beryl Ritchie (Tom) of Dartmouth, and one brother Bill Theuerkauf (Jean deceased) of Bellville, and several nieces and nephews.
The family received relatives and friends at Elhatton's Funeral Home and the Funeral Service was held on January 14, 2009 at the First United Church of Bathurst. The family would appreciate donations to a charity of their choice.
