Bathurst - Albert Audet, 88, of Miramichi Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (March 9, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Latuque, Que., he was the son of the late Alfred and Anna (St.Onge) Audet.
He worked for over 45 years at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, 4th Degree Member of the Msgr. Wheton Assembly Knights of Columbus, Bathurst, Past President of the Mount Carmel Parish Committee, past member of the Bathurst Fire Brigade, past member of the Bathurst City Planning Commission, member of the former Bathurst Citizen Band for over 30 years and was a member of the IBEW Union.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Marie Rose (Cormier) Audet in 2008.
He was the last member of his immediate family.
He is survived by:

Jeannette Audet (Keith Roherty) and
Leo Audet (Judith), both of Bathurst
Corinne Savoie (Peter Dewar) of Fredericton
Daughter-in-law:
Jaqueline Audet of Montreal, Que.
6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a son; Robert, brothers; Raymond, Leo, Edmond, sisters; Leona, Anita, Colette and Denny.
The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (March 12, 2009) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery later in the spring. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from noon until time of Funeral
