Gilles 'Gil' Cormier, 71, of Beresford and formerly of Bathurst, died Friday (April 9, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in St. Leonard, he was the son of the late Ernest and Leda (Dubé) Cormier.
He was a retired foreman from Brunswick Mines and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Joan Dennis.
He is survived by his wife, the former Viola Hadley.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (April 12, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, later in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
