Janeville - Sanford Cormier, 93, formerly of Janeville, passed away on Wednesday (July 14, 2010) at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst.
Born in Canobie, he was the son of the late James and Maude (Glendenning) Cormier.
He was a veteran of World War II with the Royal Canadian Army serving in Canada and overseas, member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst and member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Sadie (Jagoe) Cormier in 2002.

Two Grandchildren; Lynn, Amy, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by an infant son, Edward, sisters; Edna Hood, Doris Brierley, Meta Berry, Lillian (Scott) Branch, brothers; James and Raymond.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton' s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will held on Saturday morning (July 17, 2010) at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the New Bandon Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in memory of Sanford may be made to the Central United Church, the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a favorite charity.
