Bathurst ? Richard MacKenzie, 81, husband of the late Gertrude MacKenzie, died Tuesday (July 1 2003) on arrival at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Doncaster) MacKenzie. He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion Bathurst. He worked for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill as a machinist and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. He was pre-deceased by his wife, the former Gertrude (Furlotte) MacKenzie in 2000. He is survived by: 1 Son: Richard MacKenzie Jr. (Sandra) of Bathurst 4 Daughters: Elizabeth Good (Leslie), Carolyn Stanger (Ralph), and Bonnie Godin (Ronald), all of Big River Brenda Neumann (Terry) of Bathurst 4 Sisters: Dorothy Morrison (late Donald) of Janeville Adeline Furlotte (late John) of Bathurst Gertrude LaForest (Dollard) of Moncton Betty Bowler of Bathurst 3 Brothers: George MacKenzie of Toronto, ON Charles MacKenzie (Luba) of BC Winston MacKenzie (Marie) of Moncton, NB 10 Grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Penny in 1976 and brothers Robert & Warren, and sisters, Florence Doucet and Margaret MacKenzie. The body is resting at the Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Friday (July 4, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fraser officiating. Burial will be in the Spruce Grove Union Cemetery, Bridge St. A Legion service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. www.elhatton.com
