It is with sadness that the family announce the death of Hazel Olive McDougall, 90, of Bathurst which occurred at Chaleur Regional Hospital on November 24, 2010.
Born in Miniota, Manitoba, Hazel was the daughter of the late Henry Knight Stewart and Agnes Irene (Dumond) Stewart.
Hazel is survived by one daughter Judy (Robert) Losier of Bathurst; three grandchildren Beverly Losier of Bathurst, Steven (Robyn) Losier of Quispamsis and David Losier of Moncton; and two great-grandchildren Georgia Losier and Brigid Losier of Quispamsis. She is also survived by two sisters Thelma Faubert of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Jean Young of Elliot Lake, Ontario. She was pre-deceased by her husband Alex McDougall and three brothers Art, Archie and Bill Stewart of Ontario.
For many years Hazel was active in curling, duplicate bridge, gardening, cooking, knitting and sewing. In recent years she especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and became an avid fan of the Acadie Bathurst Titan hockey team.
Visitations will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 am at First United Church in Bathurst. Donations in memory of Hazel would be appreciated to the Memorial Fund of First United Church of Bathurst or any favourite charity.
