It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Keith McParland, January 25, 2012, of Big River, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Val-D’Or Quebec, he was the son of the late Cavell "Red" and Winnifred (Cormier) McParland.
He will be missed dearly by his wife, Marlene (Jones); son, Ricky (Debbie) of Big River; daughter Cynthia (Calvin) Good of Clifton; grandchildren: Corey, Chaz and Kelsey; one sister, Sheila (late Roger) Daigle of Bathurst; two brothers: Kenny (Angie) and Brian (Diane) both of Big River; one uncle, Joe McParland of Ontario; cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Hugh McParland.
He worked for Brunswick Mines for 35 years. Member of the Nepisiguit Salmon Association and was a member of the seniors bowling league. Keith had a great passion for fishing; he loved tying his own flies, and enjoyed his gardening.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday (January 30, 2012) at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Keith may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Nepisiguit Salmon Association, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
