Mrs. Joan DeSilva, 62, of Melanson St., Bathurst, died Thursday (July 15, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after an illness.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Gordon 'Sparky' and Marjorie (McLean) Stever.
She worked for Walmart as a Sales Associate since 1979.
She is survived by: One daughter: Karen Surette (Danny) of Bathurst, One sister: Jean Knowles (Stan) of Lower Newcastle, Two grandchildren, Ashley and Brody, Two nephews, Jeff & Scott, and one niece, Colleen. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Brandon, in 1994.
The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday morning (July 17, 2004) at 11:00 a.m. from St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
