Bathurst – Mrs. Verna Nettie Glendenning, 91, wife of the late Guy E. Glendenning, formerly of Canobie, passed away on Friday (May 4, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Katie (Payne) Daley.

She is survived by her three sons: Elmer of Keswick Ridge, NB, Chester (Judy) of Langley, BC and Chipman (Julie) of Hampton, NB.  Three daughters: Dorothy Knowles of Clifton, Dora Mae Knowles (Lawrence) of Clifton and Hazel Miller (Hanson) of Salmon Beach.

Two sisters: Margaret Good of Salmon Beach and Doris Edwards of Pembroke, ON. Two brothers: Stewart Daley of New Bandon and Donald Daley (Elizabeth) of Bathurst. Sister-in-law, Helen Daley of Ontario.  16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her brothers: Vernon, Rubin, Harold, Warren, Wallace, Murray and sisters: Mildred, Violet and Hazel.

The body will rest on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (May 10, 2012) at 2 p.m. from Central United Church, Clifton. Donations in memory of Verna may be made to Central United Church or a charity of the donors choice.
