The death of Lois McGregor of Burleson, Texas occurred on August 6, 2012 at the age of 76 at the Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas following a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Branch) Doucet.
She is survived by her two sons: Rob Roy (Denise) McGregor of Frisco, Texas and Jim (Heidi) McGregor of Fort Worth, Texas; and one daughter: Bonnie (Leon Skilleter) McGregor of Arlington, Texas; one brother: Bernard (Valerie) Doucet of Salt Spring Island, BC, one sister: Jean (Jean Marie) Cormier of Bathurst, NB and sister-in-law: Norma Doucet of Bathurst, NB along with several nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother to six beloved grandchildren: Mason, Madison, Erin, Jason, Brock and Cade.
Lois graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, attended Mount St.Vincent University and received her degree in Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University. She had a successful business career and at the time of her retirement she was President of A R Contractors Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.
She cherished her childhood friends and spent many enjoyable hours with her family and friends at her cottage at Youghall Beach. She always remembered her roots and generously supported many community charitable organizations and her church.
Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her sisters: Loretta Quinn and Marion Quinn; brother: Clarence Doucet and step-brother Earl Doucet.
The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2012 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
