Middle River, N.B. - Harper Ward, of Middle River, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side, on Friday (January 25, 2013) at the age of 90.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Duncan and Evelyn (Jeffers) Ward.
He was retired from the Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and Superior Middle School as custodian.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Jones) Ward of Bathurst.
Five daughters: Marjorie Aubé (Elzear), Joyce Aubé (Lorenzo), Shirley Aubé (Levis), Linda Ward all of Middle River and Gloria Jones (Sonny) of Big River.
Three sons: Art (Gail), Gary (Adrienne Huard) and Duncan (Patsy Murphy) all of Middle River. 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
One brother: David Ward (Elizabeth) of Bathurst. One sister: Grace Blackmore (Gary) of Bathurst. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two infant children: David, Marjorie, one sister, Violet Sargeant and one brother, Gordon.
The body will rest after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday (January 29, 2013) at 4 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral.
