It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Richard (Rick) Doucet, of St. Patrick St., Bathurst, who passed away peacefully on February 9, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Ligouri and Pauline (Rioux) Doucet. He is leaving behind his wife, Jean (Hauser) Doucet and daughter, Kimberly Doucet.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: twin brother, Alfred (Deborah) Doucet of Fredericton, N.B., Paula (John) Jarratt of Fredericton, N.B., Patricia (Bill) Bannerman of Bedford, N.S., Ray Doucet of Montreal, Que., Paul Doucet of Bathurst, N.B., Elizabeth (Irwin) Shechtman of St-Lazarre, Qc.
He will be fondly remembered by his loving nieces, nephews and his many friends, especially his best buddy, Bernard Whelton.
He was pre-deceased by his older brother, Eugene (Jamie) Doucet.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning (February 13, 2013) at 10 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Bathurst.
