Bathurst - Mrs. Gertrude David, 85, wife of Raymond David, of Bathurst and formerly of Big River, passed away Wednesday (February 27, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Pinet) McGrath.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Leda Roy of Vancouver, B.C., Edmond (Jeannette) Vernon, B.C., Omer (Maria) of Ontario, Paul (Annette) of Big River, Paulette Roy (Marcel) of Pointe-Verte, Pauline David of Bathurst, Lillian David (Claude Vienneau) of Bathurst, André (Nancy) of Bathurst, Nicole Simpson (Daryl) of Ontario, Theresa Boudreau (Dennis) of Robertville and Robert of Big River, Rikk (Des) of Moncton.
22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two sons Ronald and Cyril.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (March 4, 2013) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, and Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
