Beresford, N.B. - With profound sorrow, the family of David Kearnes of Beresford, N.B., announces his death on Tuesday (April 23, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Digby, N.S., he was the son of the late Clarence and Emilie (Maillet) Kearnes.
He worked for many years in the grocery business, beginning in 1957 at Dominion Stores in Saint John, N.B. and ending his career at Save Easy in Beresford in 1999.
He was married for 54 years to the former Joan Butler, formerly of Campbellton.
He is survived by two daughters: Lynn Pelletier (Mario) and Lori Cormier (Mario), both of Beresford.
And a "special son", Paul Spinks of Saint John, N.B.
Also survived by four grandchildren: Adam Pelletier, Stephanie Good (Craig), Jeremy and Sarah Cormier, all of Beresford.
Two great-grandchildren: Lexi-Lyn and Cjay Good.
One brother, Bruce (Wendy) of Tupperville, N.S.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Keith David.
Many thanks to Dr. Houle and the nursing staff for their kindness while Dave was at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (April 26, 2013) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. There will be no funeral service.
Donations in memory of Dave may be made to the SPCA in Bathurst, the Diabetic Association or a favorite charity would be appreciated by the family.
