Bathurst - Roland Arthur Good, 84, of O'Neil Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday (June 26, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a short illness.
Born in Stonehaven, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lottie (Dempsey) Good.
Roland worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill for 40 years. He was a volunteer Fireman for the City of Bathurst for 17 years, member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst and a member of the First United Church, Bathurst.
Besides his wife, Doris (Jagoe) Good, he is survived by two sons: David (Kathy) of Florenceville, N.B. and Jeffrey of Fredericton.
Daughter-in-law, Mary Good of Belleville, Ont.
Three grandchildren: Ryan, Bryana and Emma.
Two sisters: Edith Davidson of Bathurst and Betty Good of Peterborough, Ont. Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Robert in 2008, two brothers: Raymond, Charles and one sister, Dorothy Clouston.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday afternoon (June 29, 2013) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Donations in memory of Roland may be made to the First United Church or a charity of the donors choice.
