Derrick K. Malinowski - 58, of Kent Lodge Road, Beresford, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Frank and Sara (Gillis) Malinowski.

He worked for Syncrude Canada Ltd in Fort McMurray for over 25 years and recently retired and returned to the Maritimes.

He is survived by his wife Brenda (Logan).

One daughter, Nicole Malinowski (Fred) of St. Albert, Alberta.

One step-son, Christopher Garratt (Mandy) of Beresford.

Five grandchildren: Ethan, Aylssa, Aiden, Brooke and Logan.

One brother, John (Harriet) of Miramichi.

He was predeceased by a sister, Christina.

As per Derrick's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral.

There will be a gathering of relatives and friends at their home in Kent Lodge on Saturday, August 31, 2013 after 3 p.m.
