Big River - Mrs. Dora Glendenning, 81, wife of the late Norman Glendenning, of Big River, passed away on Monday (December 23, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Winton) Smearer.

Dora was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by three sons: Dale (Mona) of Bathurst, Bruce (Mona), Roy (Leigh Ann) both of Big River.  Eight daughters: Lois McConaghy (Stan) of Fredericton, Joy Glendenning (Roger Allen) of Fredericton, Joan Johnston (Joe) of Saint John, Ann Roy (David) of Bathurst, Audrey Ramsay (Ralph), Beth Boucher (Walter) and Rhoda Sherrard (Stephen) all of Big River and Nancy Glendenning (Patrick Hawley) of Sydney, NS.  23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Dora was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lisa in 2002.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday (December 31, 2013) at 11 a.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
