1929-2014
It is with great sorrow that the family of Kathryn Helen (Veniot) David announces her death at the age of 85, which occurred on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst after a brief and brave illness.
Born in Bathurst, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Francis P. "Bee" Veniot and the late Francetta (Thibodeau) Veniot.
Sis attended Mount Saint Vincent University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1950. She was a faithful member of the C.W.L. at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, a member of the Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club and Bathurst Curling Club and well known by numerous customers as a longtime vendor at the City's Farmers Market. The memories of her delicious baking will truly be missed by everyone.
She was the beloved mother of Sue (David) Poupart of Bathurst, Peter David of Moncton, Andre David (Shelly) of Bathurst and Karen David (Becky) of Halifax and proud Nanny to granddaughters Erika, Jenna, Alicia and step-granddaughter Sarah. She is survived by her sister, Connie LeBlanc and her sister-in-law, Marion Veniot as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by one brother, Bernard (Sonny) Veniot, infant son, Robert David and the father of her children, Edward David.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care extended to Sis by her friends and the staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. J.P. Arseneau for his care, support and the laughs they shared together.
There will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4 pm on Friday, July 11th, 2014 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sis may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to a favourite charity.
