1939 – 2014
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Jean White of Homestead Drive, Bathurst on Monday July 14, 2014 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital following a brief illness at the age of 74.
Jean was the daughter of the late Eldon and Doris (Bishop) Eddy and is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Jean was pre-deceased by her husband, Henry and daughter, Martha.
Beloved mother to three sons: Robert (Tracy) of North Bay, Ont., Douglas (Rose) of Victoria, B.C. and Steven (Kim) of Bathurst.
Jean took much pride in her community and family and especially deeply loved her grandchildren: Andrew, Ashley, Kimberly, Brandy, Ryan, Erin and Lauren as well as her great-grandchildren: Emily, Charlie, Dexter and Alice.
Jean was past president of the Bathurst Minor Baseball Association as well as past executive member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Brunswick and member of the Royal Canadian Legion. In addition, she was a business woman and with the support of her husband Henry started an insurance brokerage in 1979 which is still in existence today.
Jean had a flare for life and went on at her own pace and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, July 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday July 19, 2014 at 11 am from St. George’s Anglican Church, King Avenue, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of the donors choice.
