1921 – 2014
Bathurst - It is with great sadness the family of Charlotte Ada Ross (Hibberd-Morrison) announce her passing on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit at the age of 92.
She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Charlotte (Owen) Hibberd of London England.
She was the mother to: Joan (Stephen) Brunet of Bathurst, Eric (Nancy) Morrison of Moncton, Michael (Janice) Morrison of Miramichi and the late Carole Morrison of Miramichi.
She was grandmother to: Stephanie, Robbie, Shawn, Angelia, Michelle, Chris, Jeffrey, Andrew, D.J. and Tammy Lynn.
She was great-grandmother to: Ava, Kayden, Jake and Ben.
Charlotte was born in London, England on November 30, 1921 where she was sister to: Fred, Jack, Tom, George, Betty and Joan. Auntie to their many children.
She married Vincent Morrison during World War II in 1943 in England, where her 2 sons were born. She immigrated to Canada in 1946 on the Queen Mary, docking at Pier 21, Halifax. She lived in Newcastle where her 2 daughters were later born. She was a home maker until re-entering the work force later in life at the Miramichi Hospital. Charlotte re-married in 1975. She then lived in Scotland, Germany and Taintville, Miramichi, during that time she travelled to many parts of the world. She then moved to Bathurst in 1994 where she kept her own apt. on O'Neil Avenue until November 2013. In Bathurst, she was active in the War Brides Association and maintained her membership in the Ladies Auxiliary at the Herman J. Good Legion. Charlotte always kept active; church on Sunday's, grocery on Thursday, hair on Friday followed by lunch with the girls and enjoyed many drives in and around Bathurst. Always a lady, she lived a very proud life, proud of her family, proud of her heritage, a proud Londoner.
She will be missed.
There will be no visitations at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Holy Family Church in Bathurst.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst.
A future memorial service will be held later in England, as per her wishes where her ashes will be repatriated in her home land.
