South Tetagouche - Kenneth "Baba" Johnstone, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Tuesday (September 30, 2014) at the age of 63.
Born in Edmunston, he was the son of the late Blair and Jean (MacFarlane) Johnstone.
He is survived by his wife Eliane (Dumaresq) Johnstone.
Three children: Laura Johnstone, Jeff (Carla) Johnstone, Lyndsey Johnstone (Jeremy Walsh) all of Bathurst.
Five grandchildren: Carley, Alyssa, Havanna, Katie and Preston.
One brother, Chuck (Claire) of Bathurst.
One brother in law, Peter Wright of Ontario.
As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Debra "Blue" Anne Wright.
Ken was a proud Forest Ranger working for the department of Natural Resources. He had a true love for nature and animals; he was well known for his many skills, such as hunting, trapping, fishing and let’s not forget his garden that was big enough to feed all of South Tetagouche. Ken was also known as "Baba" the world's greatest grandfather with a heart of gold! Baba was a true family man and best friend to all. He will be deeply missed most of all by his loving family.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff of the ICU and Palliative department for their remarkable care and support.
A memorial service on behalf of Ken Johnstone will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2014 at the Atlantic Host at 7 pm, followed by a celebration of his life. Doors will open at 6 pm.
Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Bathurst SPCA or a charity of the donor's choice.
