Dunlop – Carmel Nixon, born in 1941, age 73 of Leah Doucet Foyer, Bathurst, N.B. and formerly from Prince Albert, Ont., passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Bathurst Chaleur Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer & dementia.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Clarence White and Mary (Imhoff).
Her passions were anything creative, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening...she loved music, nature, plants, children. She was indeed loved by everyone, enjoyed helping others and made people smile with her own smile.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Burton Nixon of Dunlop, N. B., and her 3 children: Michael Nixon, & Cathy of Port Perry, Ont., Donna Lynn Nixon of Trenton, Ont., and Leanne Mary Nixon of Chestermere, Alta.
Six grandchildren: Amanda-Lynn, Deanna, Jaime, Hunter, Dustin and Bradley.
She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. A special thank you to her loving sister, Marjorie for all the love and care she gave to Carmel.
She was the baby of the family of 7 kids, predeceased are her eldest sister, Edna (White) St. Amour, and her three brothers: Alphie, Aurele, and Leon, with only two surviving sisters: Leona (White) Connolly of Summerside, P.E.I., and Majorie White of Bathurst, N.B.
Several nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place in the spring at the Holy Family Cemetery, in Bathurst, N.B., details to follow.
Donations in memory of Carmel may be made to Bathurst Chaleur Regional Hospital.
