Bathurst - Gerald Lavigne, 87, formerly of Melanson Subdivision, passed away on Monday December 21, 2015, at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit in Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late George and Louise (Theriault) Lavigne.

He was retired from the formerly Stone Consolidated Paper Mill, he was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1935, inducted into the Bathurst Sport Hall of Fame with the CYO Baseball Team, active for many years with the Cub movement and very active in his church.

Besides his wife, Finn (Chiasson) Lavigne of Bathurst, he is survived by one son, Ronald Lavigne of Trenton, Ont. 

His twin sisters: Evelyn Hargreais of London, Ont.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers: Percy, Fabien, Leo, Paul and three sisters: Florida, Lillian and Martha.

Visitation will be held at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 7 to 9 and Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
