It is with deep sadness, mingled with thanksgiving to God, the family announce the death of Mrs. Doris Adrienne Gertrude "Gertie" Daley, formerly of Salmon Beach, passed away on Friday July 8, 2016 at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in Janeville, she was the youngest daughter of the late Allen and Whilamina (Scott) Knowles and loving wife of the late Stanley Daley for 62 years.
Gertrude, known to all her faithfulness to God, her husband Stanley, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the members of her extended family, neighbors’ and her faith community. She had a deep love for her Church and served for many years as a member of the Altar Guild, Ladies Guild and Choir of Christ Church, Clifton.
She is survived by her children: Sharon (The Most Rev. Claude Miller) of Fredericton, Amy (Brent Theriault, QC) and Laurie Daley (Ethel) both of Salmon Beach and Randall Daley (Kathryn) of Dauphin, MB. And delighted in her eight grandchildren and her thirteen great-grandchildren,
Also survived by a sister-in-law, Louise Daley of Bathurst, brother-in-law, Oscar Daley of Oakville, ON and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by a grandson, Rillen; her only sibling, Blanche Scott, her niece Sandra "Dolly" Jagoe and nephews Derwyn and Nelson Scott.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A service of Thanksgiving will be held on Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. from Saint George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to the Saint-George’s Anglican Church or a charity of the donors choice.
