Mrs. Rita Lavigne Thorne, 89, formerly of Nipisiguit Falls, passed away on Saturday June 2, 2018 at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lavigne and Elizabeth Pelletier.

She worked for the Irving Oil company for most of her life.

She is survived by one son, Walter Roy of Prince George, BC.

One daughter, Gloria Roy of Saint John, NB.

Two brothers: Gérald Lavigne (Marie) of Nepisiguit Falls, and Wesley Lavigne (Marilyn) of South Tetagouche.

Six sisters: May Lavigne (Reg Doucet) of Beresford, Yvonne Vienneau of Rough Waters, Anita Coté, Norma Berri (Tony), Estelle Lavigne and Géraldine Gendron of Montreal.

Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by daughters, Catherine, Shirley, sons, Ronnie, Kenny, Bobby, a brother, Gordon and sisters, Blanche, Eleanor and Doris.
