It is with great sadness that Gale (Hickey) Seifert announces the passing of her husband, Jorg Dieter "Nick" Seifert at the age of 79, peacefully at his home on June 28, 2019.
Born in Berlin, Germany, he was raised in Bavaria, Germany. He was the son of the late Heinz Hermann Seifert and the late Ursula Klara (Denecke) Seifert.
He is survived by his loving wife Gale (Hickey) Seifert, his brother Klaus Peter Seifert (late Renate) of Bavaria, Germany and sister Angela Gutschow (Klaus) of Kiefersfelden, Germany. As well as many nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
For many years Nick worked for Burgmann International and travelled to many parts of the world working on large industrial projects.
Nick loved Canada very much, moving to Canada in 1995 and becoming a permanent resident in 2003.
He loved his wife Gale, their log home on the beach, bird houses and feeders and travelling in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in search of antiques and original German food. Nick also had a special taste for beer and schnapps.
As per Nick’s wishes there will be no visitation or Funeral Service. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, Tuesday July 2, 2019 at his residence, 24 Rue des Oiseaux, Pointe Verte, from 3:00 PM on.
A special thank you to Dr. Ariane Bouchard, Extra Mural nurses, Respiratory Technologist as well as the staff at Vital Aire. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
In memory of Nick, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
