Bathurst - John Daley, 79, of Bridge St., Bathurst, died Friday (September 26, 2003) at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, after brief illness. Born in New Bandon, he was the son of the late James and Iva (Payne) Daley. He worked as an equipment inspector for the Department of Highways until his retirement. He was an active and faithful member of the First United Church, Bathurst. Beside his wife, the former Helen Knowles. 2 Sons: David Daley (Beverly) of Louisporte, NF Ken Daley (Juliette) of Fairfield, Iowa, USA 1 Daughter: Audrey Daley of Halifax, NS 1 Sister: Elva Ellis (Eric C.) of Janeville 6 Grandchildren; John, Susan, Sara, Anne Rose, Jean Nick, Genevra 2 Great-grandchildren; Jonathan & Gabrielle Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers; Alton, Harvel, Lawrence and a sister; Ruby. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the United Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst.
