Rolla was married to Gerard “Gerry” Elhatton who predeceased her in 1998.
She graduated from Teachers College and taught in a one room school in South Tetagouche. She was a popular supply teacher in the Bathurst area for many years and after her retirement enjoyed spending time on her many interests. Mom loved to travel and in 2001, went on her trip of a life time visiting Ireland and England. She will be missed by the many people walking to the city farmers market and admiring the lovely flowers in her front yard. She was also very proud of her Highland heritage and participated in many Scottish celebrations throughout the province. As an active member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church she participated in the Woman's Missionary Society and many other groups. Special thanks go to her caregivers (Jeanette, Deedee and Alma) who enabled her to spend her last years in the comforts of her home.
