Mrs. Gertrude Abernethy, wife of the late Vaughn Abernethy, formerly of South Tetagouche, passed away on Friday June 16, 2023, at Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, at the age of 93.

Born in Edmunston, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (McLean) Wood.

She will be greatly missed by her five children: Robert (Lucie Caissie) of Bathurst, Susan Audet (Alfred) and John (Ina) both of South Tetagouche, Sharon Savory and Sandy Flanagan Abernethy both of Bathurst.

10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister Myrna Stothart and her brothers Allen and Charles.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held later.
