It is with great sadness that the Armstrong family announces the passing of Waldron “Wally” Armstrong, of Youghall Dr., Bathurst, which occurred Wednesday June 21, 2023 at Chaleur General Hospital in Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Dorinda (Branch) Armstrong.
Wally was a doer and self-employed most of his life. He was an active member of the Bathurst Yacht Club and the Bathurst Horseman’s Club and he worked as a heavy equipment operator out West for several years. After retirement, Wally could often be found shoveling snow off roofs, which caused no end of worry for his family. He enjoyed all things tinkering, fixing, and providing care for his family and their extended family. We will miss his mischievous wit and his wisdom.
He is survived by his children: Pauline Armstrong (Reggie Boucher), Pamela Armstrong and Curtis Bennett (Betty) all of Bathurst, Elaine Armstrong of Moncton, Diane (Greg) Belliveau of Austin, Texas, USA and Roger Bouliane (Loretta) of Calgary, AB.
Grandchildren: Cody, Chelsey, Chris, Crystal, Kai, Kaeden, Kerry, Myken and Keewatin.
Great-grandchildren: Mia, Riley, Holden and Craig.
One sister, Doady Armstrong of Bathurst.
Daughter-in-law, Jocelyne Armstrong of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Diane and their son, Craig.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2023, from 12 noon at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), until time of Funeral at 2 p.m. Donations in memory of Wally can be made to a charity of the donors choice.
