It is with heavy hearts that we the family, announce the passing of Alvin Frenette, of Bathurst, which occurred on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 70.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Edmond and Diana (Boudreau) Frenette.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa of Ontario.
A brother Dick Frenette (Rita), his sister Josie Dickie (Cameron Melanson), his niece Nancy Vienneau (Steven), his niece Jana Dickie (Dany), his great-niece Stephanie (Keith), his great-niece Madison, all of Bathurst.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Linda Frenette in 2010, and an infant brother Normand.
Alvin worked for several employers during his lifetime, and he was a driver instructor for 22 years, having taught over 4,000 young people how to drive, an accomplishment he was very proud of.
Music was one of Alvin’s passions and he taught himself how to play the guitar at a very young age. He was a well-known musician and a member of several local rock bands.
Alvin will indeed be missed by his family, and his many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Extra-Mural Program, Unicare Home Health Care and the Palliative Care Unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care and support provided to Alvin.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday January 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
