It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear sister, Jeannette “Janet” Young, which occurred on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit. Janet was 68 years old.

Born in Bathurst, Janet was the daughter of the late Adrien and Frances (Boucher) Young.

She will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters:

Helen Godin (late George), Barbara Lavigne (late Edgar) both of Bathurst, Ronnie (Lois) of McArthur Mills, Ontario, Roger (Christine) and Norma Aubie (Bernie) both of Bathurst.

Several nieces and nephews.

Janet was known for many names, Jeannette, Jay, Jan, J.J. and baby. She had a great love of music, playing games, collecting greeting cards, her clappers and telephones.

Her smile and laugh were contagious, and she brought a smile to the staff at the Veteran’s Unit.

She resided at the special care home on Laurier Street for over 32 years and had been a resident of the Robert L. Knowles Veteran’s Unit for the past 3 years.

The staff have been exceptional to Janet and the family is greatly appreciative. They would also like to thank Dr. Natalie Cauchon for the care given to Janet.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024 from Elhatton Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com). Donations in memory of Janet can be made to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a favorite charity.
