Mrs. Stella Kane, 93, wife of the late Arthur Kane, formerly of St. Peter Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (April 14, 2007) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Marie Rose (Melanson) Hachey. She owned and operated Stella's Hat for many years. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League, Bathurst. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1995. She is survived by: One brother: Edgar Hachey of Villa Chaleur, Bathurst One sister: Agnes Doucet (Azarias) of Fredericton Several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by sisters; Berthilde, Rita, Sylvia and Marion The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning (April 17, 2007) at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church (Eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire), Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral.
